Dr Williams’ basic argument was this:

If you and I are walking down the street and we come across a homeless man, you might suggest that I give the man $20. If I decline to do so, we would all agree that your pulling out a gun and forcing me to give the man $20 is clearly wrong. It is theft. But what gives anyone the right to use government as a middle-man in this theft?

Government acting as the middle-man does not change the fact of what is happening.

Put more simply, “it ain’t compassion if you are spending someone else’s money”.

Those that give freely of resources that are not their own are not generous benefactors, they are simply common thieves.

It is so much easier to follow the flock and just bleat with the rest of the sheep.

I am simply amazed that people are so “indignant” about Arizona’s effort to do what the Federal Government should be doing and has laws in place (which they obviously are not enforcing) to do, and do in a more harsh manner, precisely what Arizonans are trying to do. Protect their citizens!
