Most elected Democrats in America have to dance a very difficult dance. On the one hand they openly espouse concepts right out of Marx’s Communist Manifesto but at the same time they will always react like Dracula hit with holy water if you label them as a socialist or a marxist. Somehow they manage to succeed fairly well by immediately going on a condescending offensive against those who accurately label them as the collectivists that they are. I blogged about that in a previous post titled Don’t Allow Socialists to Define the Terms.
Because of that “Democrat equals Socialist” reality, one tactic in my personal war on socialism has to be to call out those who show themselves to be socialists. Interestingly enough, it seems that all that is required is that one of these freedom-hating statists get in front of a friendly audience… then they admit it!
This brings me to my point… Rep. Diane Watson (S*-CA) was at a health care town hall meeting on 27 August where she praised Castro, Che Guevara, and the Cuban health care system (she must get her information from that propagandist Michael Moore).
The Cuban revolution that kicked out the wealthy, Che Gueverra did that, and then after they took over they went out among the population to find someone who could lead this new nation and they found, well, just leave it there. [laugh] An attorney by the name of Fidel.

If you called Ms. Watson a socialist she would vehemently deny it because she knows that people do not like it when you label her ideology properly. Simply put, she is a statist who believes that government owns it subjects. She is also woefully ignorant of the chronology of the Cuban revolution and Castro’s role.
*I am not going to play along with the Democrat label. She is a Socialist and will get an “S” instead.

It seems straight out of the Alinsky playbook. Pretend you are one of “them”, one of the middle class, while you subvert the very things that built the middle class. That is Obama to a “T”.
They know that America is a center-right country and therefore they know that they cannot be honest about their ideology. They self-congratulatorily label themselves as “progressives” but do not admit that what they want to progress towards is socialism.
As I ranted in my post “Don’t let the socialists define the terms”, they go on the attack when properly labeled for what they are. They have to.
But you already knew all of that! ;^)
